A tale of family, community, and fresh beginnings for a Maple Ridge business

Five Corners Furniture & Appliances is set to open the doors to its new store in Maple Ridge this June, marking a new chapter for this family-owned business. The opening of this location is a familial passage, inheriting a century-old local business from the Fuller family.

“We’re thrilled to serve more people and become an integral part of the Maple Ridge community,” says the owner of the Maple Ridge location, Kelly Gill.

Five Corners Furniture & Appliances not only sells home furniture and appliances; it also creates a stress-free environment where customers feel part of the family.

“We pride ourselves on our no-pressure sales approach and personal customer service. It’s all about helping people make their homes comfortable and welcoming,” Gill shares.

The transition from the Fuller family to the Sidhu and Gill family is a narrative steeped in shared values and mutual respect. “It’s like passing a baton from one family to another,” he says.

The upcoming opening is just a glimpse of what’s to come. While a grand opening celebration is planned for a later date, the Sidhus and Gills are eager to introduce the community to their newly renovated space.

“We’ve done quite a bit to refresh the look while maintaining the high-quality furniture and appliance products our customers trust,” Gill adds.

Five Corners Furniture & Appliances remains committed to giving back to the community. Their winter clothing drive, an initiative from their Abbotsford location, will continue in Maple Ridge. “It’s close to our hearts, and we’re excited to keep this tradition alive,” says Gill .

“Buying appliances is a significant part of making a house feel like a home. We’re motivated by the ability to contribute positively to that experience,” Gill explains. This customer-centric philosophy is what sets Five Corners Furniture & Appliances apart.

“This isn’t just a business; it’s what puts our kids through swimming lessons. It’s personal,” Gill shares. With Kelly and Kevin Gill, along with Paul Sidhu at the helm, the company is a vibrant example of how small family businesses can make a big impact.
