Building community: Langley centre a hub of year-round activity

Nestled in the heart of Langley, a vibrant commercial hub stands out not only for its blend of services, dining and retail options, but for its role as a true community hub.

“As the weather gets better, we see more families and friends enjoying our various restaurants and patios, truly embracing the community spirit that defines us,” says Tracey Ehman, Marketing Coordinator at Willoughby Town Centre.

The centre features more than 50 businesses, each providing unique services and products to cater to the needs of its visitors. From family-owned restaurants to specialized fitness studios, the centre offers a slice of life for everyone.

“It’s all about the convenience and the quality of life here. You can literally leave your car at home, walk to grab a pizza, visit a salon and even pick up a new book,” Ehman says.

One such treasure is Albany Books, offering a selection of books, toys and games. This store exemplifies the centre’s community-first approach, inviting visitors to find something for every member of the family.

For those looking for specialized insurance services, AMC Insurance Services provides comprehensive solutions. The centre also boasts a variety of health and wellness facilities, including the Peak Valley Active Health, which offers multidisciplinary healthcare services aimed at improving patients’ overall well-being.

Dining options – for people and pets!

The centre is also home to The Bone & Biscuit Co., a store dedicated to improving the health of pets through natural foods and quality products.

The commitment to community and wellness extends to the educational and recreational services offered. Code Ninjas, for instance, provides a fun and inspiring environment where kids learn to code by building their own video games.

Ehman’s favourite aspect of the centre? “It’s the community spirit here. Everyone from business owners to shoppers supports each other, making it a great place to live, work and play,” she says, pointing to Willoughby’s design, with wide sidewalks and pleasant walkways enhancing its walkability and accessibility.

With plans for further development, including more community-focused events like the coming Willoughby DAYZ scheduled for September 7 featuring activities for children, like glitter tattoo, balloon twisting and face paint artists and other activities for the whole family, the centre is poised for continued growth. “We’re excited about bringing even more events to our community,” Ehman says.

Willoughby Town Centre continues to thrive as a model of modern community living, blending residential convenience with an array of services and shops. For more information, visit willoughbytowncentre.ca and follow on Facebook and Instagram.
