Will your fireplace keep your family warm all winter long?
With September officially on the doorstep, it’s time to start preparing our homes for fall and winter. And that means making sure the fireplace is in good working order and ready to safely keep your family warm all winter long.
“While the days are still warm and the nights are long, believe it or not, now is actually the best time to get your fireplace serviced for the winter,” says Chad Befus, owner of Pacific Fireplaces. “Many individuals wait until the fall and unfortunately find themselves on a long waitlist. Booking your service appointment for gas and electric fireplaces early is a great way to make sure you’re ready for the cold weather when it returns.”
Gas and electric fireplaces should be serviced regularly to ensure safety, and to help extend the lifespan of the product. Pacific Fireplaces is also the only authorized Dimplex service centre on the Island.
“When electric fireplaces stop working it’s often due to build-up and damage to the fans that blow hot-air,” Befus says. “Regular cleaning can help prevent that build-up and reduce the risk of breakdown, but if your Dimplex fireplace does stop working we’re here to help.”
August offers big savings on gas fireplace servicing
As an additional incentive to get ahead of the crowds and book your fireplace servicing early this year, Pacific Fireplaces has an end-of-summer promotion for gas fireplace service. Normally $199.99, they’re currently offering $50 off till the end of August and Befus notes that Fortis BC is currently running an Appliance Maintenance Rebate that can save you an additional $25 for up to two fireplaces.
“Between our own current promotion and the Appliance Maintenance Rebate from Fortis, our clients can save $75 this month on their gas fireplace servicing, making August the best month to get your fireplace serviced and ready for winter,” Befus says.
