Esquimalt Parks and Recreation and the Esquimalt fire department come together for a frightfully good time at their Halloween Firehall Spooktacular, Oct. 31!
“We’ll be teaming up with our local firefighters to host an exciting night of free family fun,” says recreation programmer Jacquie Fitts. “Our team and our local firefighters will be dressed up and handing out candy throughout the evening, there’ll be a variety of themed activities, a kid-friendly haunted house and a bouncy castle as well.”
The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. and wraps up around 9 p.m. with activities taking place in and around the Esquimalt Firehall, located at 1151 Esquimalt rd. unit 101. There’ll even be a kid-friendly haunted house set up in one of the firetruck bays.
“The Esquimalt Lions will have their concession stand open for hot dogs, chips and other food and beverage items all evening,” Fitts says. “There will also be a movie projected on the side of the firehall, weather permitting. We’re a great last stop after trick-or-treating and everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities!”
Esquimalt Parks & Recreation salutes the Esquimalt fire department’s ongoing community support, including their participation in other community events like their Seniors Appreciation Tea, Holiday Lunch, Ribfest, Buccaneer Days and many others. Fitts notes that they do have a charitable foundation if community members want to give back to the department as a thank you for their ongoing good work within the community, donations can be made online here.
