Do you know any young northerners with big ideas for positive change? Ingenious+ is looking to support them!
Each year, Ingenious+ funds and mentors Canadians aged 14 to 18 who have ideas that positively impact their community … even the world. Young innovators from around the country can apply for a Regional Award of $1,000, combined with learning opportunities, to help further develop their idea.
Up to 13 National Award finalists from across Canada will receive an additional $1,000 to support their project.
At the National Awards, a $10,000 prize will be awarded to the best idea in each of these five categories:
- Community and Civic Engagement
- Climate Change and the Environment
- Equity and Inclusion
- Health and Well-being
- Technology and Entrepreneurship
Each winner will also be supported by mentoring from innovation leaders and a series of learning experiences.
Innovation is about doing something better to make an impact. This includes improving a product, service or process, or creating something new that solves a problem or makes the world better. Ingenious+ supports young innovators who are developing solutions at the community level and beyond.
There hasn’t yet been a National Award winner from Northern Canada, and Ingenious+ is hoping that changes this year. Who do you know who has an idea they want to bring to life?
The project must be led and created by youth living in Canada. To be eligible to enter, each applicant must:
- have parental or legal guardian permission to participate;
- be 14 to 18 years old, having reached their 14th birthday and not yet reached their 19th birthday at time of entry.
We’re accepting submissions until Feb 22, 2024
If you know someone who might be a good candidate for Ingenious+ support, let them know today. There’s still time to submit their application.* The process couldn’t be easier. All that’s required is:
- a signed declaration/release (also signed by a parent/guardian if applicant is under the age of majority);
- a written or video submission to answer nine short questions;
- a photo of the idea or project.
* Some conditions apply
