Automotive journalists and vehicle enthusiasts enjoyed a sneak peek of the Vancouver International Auto Show Tuesday night, ahead of the main show, March 20 to 24 in the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Open to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, the auto extravaganza continues through 6 p.m. Sunday, with more than 200 vehicles featured in all, from the newest EVs to head-turning supercars.
Covering 18,500+ metres, the exhibit space features more than 20 manufacturing brands, including GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, VinFast, Polestar, Tesla, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren, Ferrari, Maserati and more.
Tuesday night’s VIP event marked a welcome return for the show, following a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic and resulting disruptions.

Show owners, the New Car Dealers Association of BC, aimed to bring manufacturers and enthusiasts alike an unforgettable mix of vehicles, features and experiences, from test-drive opportunities to the chance to get up close and personal with much-anticipated vehicles like Tesla’s Cybertruck and a pink Maserati Grecale, inspired – of course! – by the Barbie movie.
Under the ELEVATED show theme, other highlights include a wide array of zero-emission and hybrid vehicles, including GM’s Hummer EV and Chevrolet’s Corvette E-ray, and a chance for armchair racers to test their track prowess on the groundbreaking Axon Racing Simulator.
Here’s a look at some of the other ELEVATED elements turning heads Tuesday:
- Off-roading buffs enjoyed a first look at the INEOS Grenadier truck and the latest Toyota Land Cruiser.
- Anyone pondering the array of clean-energy vehicles found a wide selection at CleanBC Go Electric’s indoor track that leads to an outdoor test drive route.
- The Supercar Eleganza: A Symphony of Luxury Performance dazzled with cars from high-performance auto manufacturers and personal collections.
- And at Horsepower Heaven, classic car buffs marvelled at the modified and custom classics synthesized with modern technology.
